“Failing to plan is planning to fail.” Perhaps in no circumstances is this more true than writing a book. You need to plan for success before you write a word. If this is a novel concept to you (you can decide whether the pun was intended), let me help.
This package is perfect for you if you want to:
- Nail down your story idea to create a strong premise that draws readers in right away.
- Learn how to position your book properly for publishing success by picking the right genre and reviewing comps.
- Identify your theme and pick a story pattern. Did you know there are 10 basic story types? Which one is yours?
- Get to know your characters. Create multi-dimensional characters and avoid cliches.
- Plot your story. Plan for the end. Map out sections, chapters, or even scenes.
What to expect:
- 3 45-minute 1:1 coaching calls. ( Week 1, Week 3, Week 6)
- Weekly review of 5 double-spaced planning pages (examples: story premise, synopisis, book jacket copy, character sketches, wordbuilding, opening scenes, etc . . .) with inline comments and big picture overview.
- You’ll walk away with a completed 3-4 page “interpretive outline” that will layout the structure of your story, a summary, book jacket copy, and 3-5 character sketches

- Accountability–I’ll keep you honest about meeting deadlines (biweekly – 20 pages)
- Email access (during business hours) to blast through writer’s block, help you refocus, and overcome the overwhelm of a blank page.
- Biweekly 1:1 coaching calls.
- Real time feedback. Biweekly manuscript review (up to 20 pages) with inline comments provides honest and constructive feedback on story progression and prevents you from getting too far off track. This is the BEST way to write a book.

If you’re just getting started and want some honest feedback before you get too far into your project, you might need an outline review. Answer a few standard questions and submit your outline (up to 10 pages) and I will provide a story structure audit and return a 2-5 page evaluation letter.

Manuscript Review
Perhaps you’re just looking for feedback but don’t need an ongoing relationship with a coach. No worries. I’m here to help. For a flat fee, I will review your manuscript up to 100,000 words and provide inline comments on the first 20 pages as well as a 6-10 page evaluation letter.
Manuscript Review: $600

Book Coach on Call
You know you need a book coach, but a package isn’t what you’re looking for. That’s cool. Flexible is my middle name. (Not really, it’s Michele). I offer coaching on retainer services that include 1:1 coaching calls, manuscript development, writing support, productivity coaching, and more.
Retainer prices start at $275 for bi-monthly 45 minutes calls. Add manuscript review (up to 10,000 words per month) for $500.
